Bank Holiday Monday's particularly silly question....

T

Jaffa Cakes...

Are they a cake or a biscuit?

I vote cake as you can't really dunk them :-)

T

A psychologist would ask the jaffa cake whether it feels more comfortable as a cake, or whether it is really a repressed biscuit, and whether it's confusion is due to a bad childhood.

On a serious note, I think the clue is in the name

S

I believe the definition of a biscuit is that it goes soft when stale, and that a cake will go hard or crisp when stale. So yes a jaffa cake is a cake.

S

I saw this on the BBC site this week under deadling with nasty interview questions!

They said to say cake because they only begin to look like biscuits after you've left them out for a few days

C

I don't care, I just eat them anyway. Yum. :P
