Hello Fellows
I am waiting for the viva arrangement. I am thinking of publishing part of my thesis, but i don't know how to do it! I read different post in this but still not clear!. Do i have to rewrite the work? or it can be used as it is with little modification?
Thank you

if your work is totally corrected then you can publish it by the permission of you rmentor.

What discipline are you in? You can publish it with little amendment if that will work, but most people in the Sciences, for example, find that it needs substantial revision or looking at from a different angle to get published.

Are you a bot?

Pm133, I think you have found your new calling! Sniffing out bots! Reminds me of Del Spooner from I, Robot! Carry on valiantly serving humanity and sniffing out bots! Just be careful (if you've seen the movie)!

All bots aside, to the original OP, I'm just a little curious. Do you mean publishing outside of the journal articles and conference presentations, that you would normally write during your PhD (or alternatively articles on your PhD that you write and submit at the end of completing your thesis)?

My understanding is that most PhD's are more commonly published nowadays as journal articles and conference proceedings.

With some PhD's in specific areas, such as history or literature studies, for example, they may be published, as books after the PhD is completed, once substantially revised and packaged into a publishable format. It would depend on the nature of your PhD and how interesting your subject matter was to a potential mainstream audience or academic publisher.

I've seen the movie but I can't remember much about it now.
Once you start seeing the bots you see them everywhere. Another 3 or 4 year old thread has just been hijacked by someone talking about Zenith essays or something.

I think the ideas of the bots is to get them actively engaging on forums in the hope that by interacting with humans they learn how to be better communicators. If that is true, the best course is to ignore them and deny them the learning process. I wont be responding to any more of them.
