I would say working home is so much better! No commuting on the awful london underground, all sources and your own space at home (hopefully uninterrupted to work) and I can snack (scoff) anything I want to all the time.. ermm maybe that last one isnt so much a benefit .... all this praise about working at home though and I've done nothing so far today , so it has its pitfalls!! Xx
Yes, I've felt that so many times then started to try to pick up my social life again once I got depressed about it. I put on so much weight and neglected myself for a while. Then I found at the moment I'd prefer shutting myself away. I know that sounds strange but either being broke, because I find it hard to work and study same time, plus not having anything in common with people anymore because i'm so stressed about the problems with phD !! I started beating myself up about it but then realised, this isnt uncommon keep going tsipat :) take heart that i'm feeling very lonely too, but it will be worth it and there will be friends for you at the end of the phD and even more will want to know you :-X Xx Donut
It does sound like i'll need a lot of patience :( UFO! How do I find out a 'research rating' for a journal paper? When you say good quality, how do you find out .. you mean based on their opinion.. or critiques / based on journal reputation... hmm sorry for the somewhat daft questions! Xx Donut
That is great thank you so much fatbob! I was wandering, is it procedure for the supervisor to support and add their name to a the journal? Can you approach an editor without the supervisor support, and publish with just your name on it.. is that possible ?
Hiya, well I could follow the format of the journals in the field of tourism, I think what I'm looking for are tips on style, being concise :-/ (as thats a prob for me), in particular what are the publishers, referees looking for when they view the paper? My supervisor told me that writing a journal paper is much more difficult then a conference paper.. as the publishers are strict but in what sense? I haven't had experience of either to know :( Xx Donut
