Panel 7, grade 4. Not even close!

I advise you to phone now. As I found out, the letter had been posted 3 weeks ago. I'm really worried now because don't you have to reply to them within 2 weeks if you are granted an award?

I received a call from the AHRC yesterday to check they had the correct address. They did. They said they would resend the letter, I asked for 1st class and they said they 'would try to get authorisation' to do that, otherwise it would be 2nd class. Post has just arrived, no letter, hey ho.

Still no letter this morning. Phoned the AHRC again, it turns out that my letter was posted on 8th August. So I have been waiting 3 weeks for a letter lost in the mail. The lady I spoke to said 'Do you want me to send it again?'. Er no, I'll just live in blissful ignorance shall I??

I'm still waiting for panel 7 PhD. The postman must think I'm a complete nutter, waiting by the door every day, the door has glass in it so he can see me clearly lurking there. My husband phoned the AHRC this morning to ask if my letter had been sent and the secretary said that I should have received it by now. So is it lost in the post?? I'm going mad here, I managed to control it for ages but now my supervisor keeps asking me if I've heard anything...

Really interesting reading all the posts and comforting to think that I'm not the only one waiting! I got grade 3 for the Masters scheme 2 years ago, but very fortunately my uni funded me instead. Now all PhD applicants have been told that there is no money in reserve, so all hopes are pinned on this app.
