Yeah, but if he is making it up, then surely that rings a few alarm bells too?
I think perhaps I should be in charge of finding you a boyfriend. I can do the vetting etc and make sure you don't get yourself in trouble.
Maybe I should get myself a web site: PhDPimp.com
So that implies you're just after a bit of the "good stuff" rather than a relationship of any kind. Otherwise you would be concerned that the guy you are trying to date cheats pretty easily.
Nothing wrong with that, just setting the scene so Stu knows what kind of night he's in for!
c0259621, it's all very well doing a course in a field where the jobs may be, but you've also got to do something you enjoy. Technologies move on, so there's no way of telling what will be "THE database" or "THE programming language" in a year or two.
Maybe you should go for a course which allows you to gain a general understanding of a number of areas in the IT field. You can then specialise in your dissertation and go from there.
I beg to differ "H". How about "MSc Database Professional" at Sheffield Hallam, or "Msc/PgDip Databases and Web-based Systems" at Salford.
c0259621 (catchy username) - If you search FindAMasters.com for the term "database*" you get 174 courses which may be of interest.
Forum Team - no doubt you can make these links live?
Zara, there's a word for you:
