If you only had a week to prepare for your viva...

Quote From 404:

Congratulations in getting this close. My advice would be to read your thesis through without paying too much attention to regrets, typo corrections etc. Then print out the table of contents (ideally enlarged on an A3 page) and take notes on it first to become familiar with sections. Then use colour-stickers to colour code the different chapters and place small notes with short prompts to yourself inside the actual thesis. Pay special attention to methodologies and terminology used within. The questions will be very specific at the viva, therefore the minute you hear them, answers will be formed in your head straight away as you are the living proof of your thesis. It is not like a job interview. You are not there to impress examiners but to defend your work. 1 week is a good time to bring a lot of information together. Good luck (up)

Hi

I totally agree with you. This is a common attitude of students that they treat viva as something like a nightmare. It's just to know their knowledge about the thesis. If you have prepared the thesis yourself and are having all related info, then nothing else is required. You only need to be confident and think viva as a healthy discussion. Just you need to feel relieved that finally you are going to complete the process.

Advice Please

Hey, Its very true that the research work is a bit hectic and boring . But in your case I could suggest you that if you want to earn a good salary try for a job that is going to be interesting as well as higher salaried. Now a days medical sector jobs are in great demand and also pay a good amount. One of my friend is doing Sonography Technician course and he was saying that after completion of the course he will be getting a good job ,so why don't you do a course in Sonography Technology, that deals with imaging and diagnosis of the internal body parts. There are many schools and online universities those who are providing such courses and scholarships to lessen the financial burden of students. You can search for those on the internet and can enroll into one . While searching for some universities for you I found the following sites: http://www.sonographytechnician.org/salary-information-for-sonography-technicians/
and http://www.sonographytechnician.org/financial-aid-and-scholarships-for-sonography-technicians/ , hope you could get some help .
