This may sound like a stupid question, but are studentships taxed? Also do the amount of hours you can work outside the lab depend on the source of the research award?

Yeah, its in the Biocentre with Prof Storey's lab in cell & developmental biology. The one in leicester is with Dr Tauber in Behavioural Genetics although his project falls more under molecular evolution.

Hi, I've had PhD offers from both Leicester and Dundee. They are both amazing projects but Im not sure whether I should stay on at Leicester (where im an undergrad) or move to Dundee. Can anyone help?

I'm currently applying for PhDs in behavioural/developmental genetics.I've had an interview and am having a nother next week, but Im worried that they might not pan out.

What would be my options if they didn't? How else would I get into research/academia? I thought about getting a lab technician job then applying for a PhD with a but more experience behind me, but are there any other options? Are there any industry funded PhDs in behavioural/developmental genetics?
