Dear all,

I was wondering if you might have some advice for me. A professor I met at a conference recently wrote to me saying that he's launching an online journal (in my field) and would like to me contribute an article. I'm eager to get published but from what I've gathered, unless a journal is peer-reviewed, it does not carry much weight in the academic world. Do you think I should ask him whether the journal is peer-reviewed or would that be considered an 'impolite' question? I don't want to come across as being too uppity!

I'm considering responding to a call for papers for a conference.
Alongside the proposal we are required to send a 'short bio-bibliographical note' to the organisers. I was wondering whether the 'bibliographic' bit refers to my writings that might have been published or whether it simply refers to a 'normal' bibliography' i.e articles and books that i intend to consult while writing the paper. I would really appreciate your comments.

Hi guys, I am a first year PhD studen and new to the
world of academic conferences. I'm planning to respond to a
call for papers which specifies two separate deadlines : one for
