I couldn't agree more! I think I have an addiction to those BBC 'Live' News feeds that are created whenever a major event happens in the world. I live in Leicester and there was some trouble, but nothing compared to London, Birmingham and Manchester. Nevertheless, it has certainly distracted me and resulted in less pomodoro tomatoes sessions this week.
Same for me Sarahlouise! I reach 12 and decide I have earned a trip to the gym/shop/friends house, then it all goes downhill :$
I'm interested to know, how does everyone spend their 5 minute breaks? Mine are either hurrying to the kitchen for a cup of tea/coffee, doing some stretches or changing my playlist.
Good job on the toms today everyone!
Call me late to the party... but I've just watched the Bourne trilogy and really enjoyed them all. The movies have a 007 quality, but without the cheesy lines and ridiculous gadgets. The only thing that bugged me was the very shaky cameras during the action scenes, which meant I had to kind of guess what was happening!
Frnd4uall, I'm happy to hear that you found Focus Booster to be useful. It has become a big hit in our office; I have got everybody using it! I am sorry to hear that you are having a hard time during your 4th year, just keep thinking positive thoughts!!!
I am also a newbie to this forum, but enjoying the company so far :-)
My tomato count for today: 12!
Pixie, I'm glad to hear that you found Focus Booster useful. I have only been using it since Friday, but my weekend has been far more productive than it usually is! I have been putting off a particularly dull section of my Lit Review for almost a month, but using the pomodoro technique it was far easier to tackle.
Natassia, Focus Booster doesn't offer that functionality... but when looking at the website the developers are actively seeking requests for improvements. I have submitted a couple of requests as there are some features missing that I would find useful. Oh and I agree, being able to add a small description of the task (ala mytomatoes) would be great!
I also use browser filter add-ons; Leechblock for Firefox and Chrome Nanny for Chrome. Both work great for me.
Hi all, noob here :-)
I have just started using the pomodoro technique alongside David Allen's GTD. I'm finding it to be a pretty good combination.
I've been using software which I can recommend, Focus Booster, which is based on the pomodoro technique:

Hope it helps!
