plz suggest the the topic of ph.d from software testing

Love it. Who's going to be the first to put their own work aside to 'suggest a topic' for somebody else's PhD? Honestly it's unbelievable!

Help me find a PHD in a topic related to Relational Database/Object-relational DB, or other
I

Hi Joe,
I hope you don't mind me saying, but doesn't the answer lie in what you've wrote? You state that 'as I have been outside the academic world for over 3 years, I am struggling to find a PHD with subjects that relate to relational DB or Object-relational DB. If (and I am assuming if) those are the areas that you would like to be, but you cannot find PHD's relevant to them, then what you should be doing is suggesting your own research in relation to them.
I don't want to appear negative at all, but from the posts I've seen where people ask for help/advice on choosing the right topic for a PHD, the general concensus seems to be that if you don't really know that for yourself, then perhaps you shouldn't really be doing a PHD? I hope you dont take offence at that, hopefully you will come up with something, or even advice which you consider more constructive!

AHRC DOCTORAL FUNDING OPEN STUDENTSHIP COMP
I

Hi
Just wondered if there is anybody out there who's applied for doctoral funding in the AHRC open competition, i.e. not through block funding? If so, have you had any news? Or do you know of when to expect news? I have been told August but am understandably impatient to hear anything at all!!!

Should i do a PhD?? - urgent help needed!

Hi
I just really wanted to say, that please bear in mind that whatever you start, i.e. either a phd or a new job / career etc, it is perfectly normal to have some doubts, I think very few people are able to start something knowing that it is 100% for them, and this applies to everything not just phds!

Also, I really wanted to say that you mentioned having kids in the future, in that case that would definitely make me swerve towards the phd, knowing that one day it may well possibly help in giving them the best start and future that you can.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

Hi,
I would be really grateful if anybody could help with the following query. I am (hopefully) starting a fully funded PhD in October at a U.K. university.
While I am of course happy and prepared to study full-time, due to family committments I have kind of assumed that I would be able to plan my study time around this. Ideally, I would be happy to be in Uni for 3 full days a week and then to fit the rest round evenings / weekends etc.
I haven't officially broached this with my supervisor as I have assumed it is okay, and I also of course didn't want to look uncommitted!
Please could you give your general opinion on this, my subject area is english language / humanities.

Thanks in anticipation!
