there is my last brain cell gone... I cannot follow you at all. Can somebody please write me good excuse I can send to my supervisor? sth along the lines: I am afraid to inform you that oz lost her last brain cell by trying to understand a thread on the postgrad forum...
Hi,
It will be better if you contact potential supervisors first and ask them whether they would be interested to work with you and whether you can study in English. There is no application process to the universities as it is in GB or USA. You are normally not considered a student anymore but a researcher. There a some exceptions where you find courses comparable to GB. However, you normally will be employed by the university (if you are lucky and they have the money). There is some good information on the website of the DAAD.
Is there a possibility that someone else can go abroad for you? Include an MSc student? I don't know what you are working at but it might be a possibility to get the data. Apart from this I think I would postpone in your case which gives you enough time and money for know but there might be a time to come when your daughter goes of to e.g. school when you find some time to pick it up again. Just to keep your options open.
