ok this is maybe an odd topic but does by any small chance anyone happen to have purchased this from anywhere!!!!? i really need some but sources seem limited!
i think being in a institute is very different. its more like a 905 job, and from what i know of friends the hours are more fixed, whereas at unis people come and go more freely. but you do get treated more like collegue, and possibly for some get more help as supervisors are not lecturing etc. you do lose out on the student lifestyle but for most that doesnt matter by the time you get to mid twenties.
i would go for academic interests and what has driven you to want to do a PhD, why that topic area etc.
oh ok. not sure if im understanding it correctly but people where i am are enrolled at unis all over the country / some other countries but do their project here. The open univeristy would probably be a good option too.
do you mean at a distance from the uni your registered at?
push him in the lake...
well the panel here was the most i had been interviewed by, but dont let that put you off. just be prepared for the obvious questions .. why do you want this, why are you suitable. im not sure if your supervisor to be would be on the panel, in mine he was not, so the questions at that stage were about dissertation topic and my research work in placement year. so as long as you know that inside out its a good start. read up on the project and references given and you should be fine. try seem as enthusiastic as possible and ask lots of questions! good luck
otherwise known as scientists...
i cant imagine most people where i work would know a designer label ...
i did and its never been a problem that i didnt to a masters.
hehe im from newcastle too.. its a fliping long way!
to H
nice for some...
lots of post doc jobs state at least 2 years experience.. where are we meant to get that after the PhD.. its like never ending hurdles.
my boyfriend keeps saying he didnt go to uni etc but his earning potential is sky high whereas mine is pretty fixed.. ironic considering its cost me 15k plus to get this far but will spend most of life paying that off..
hehe my sup is about as far from well dresses as can get. open toes sandals and shorts with socks.. yuk!
before i started here i used to care what i looked like.. now i figure what does it matter !
