really? how come? what happended to the people.. probably you can make some new friends in the working environment..
well.. usually it is not allowed, your university is quite strange. How will a supervisor "supervise" someone's work objectively in this case? and what if the relationship doesnot work out..
sorry, but have never experienced this before.. I work in a male-dominant field, so it is quite rare that the relationship happens among super/students..
anyone, any ideas?
hmm, I think it is time that you consider the working environment and if any chang should be made.. How about starting with why you work "remotely" from your colleagues?
probably it helps to be a bit "hidden" when dealing with your supervisor; they only check what you have done, how you do them is not their concern at all. so just work according to your plan and tell you supervisor you have tried your best. No need to explain how much you are devoted to it.. They are your supervisors, not your guardian or something..
just clear out what you understand, and what you don't understand. and pick out the most importatn ones of the things you don't understand yet and study them.. Knowing there are somethings you don't know is not fraud, as long as you know what you don't know.. soounds like a twister,
there should be plenty of conferences or scholarships to apply for; and usually you compete with thousands of others; not only those from your own group/university. Just focus on your work and make it as best as you can.
that's tricky.. usually a PhD needs quite many discussion and supervision.. how about consult your supervisor about it?
happens often.. need to calm down, usually good work needs patience.
speechless..
there should be some people who are truly into research. the people in my group are also varied on the passion for research. Most motivated researchers are conservative about sharing ideas, they already too many ideas to develop.. so try to find these people. If there is nobody like that in your group, then maybe the environment is not good enough.
try finding another more fun job?
what topic is it? and you will be working at home.. interesting
dude, calm down! ( or a girl.. I am not sure.) Why wasting your value youth complaining? what happended exactly?
excellent, I should do some pilates too , starts from today..
hmm, you should find a job(or PhD) that you are really interested in. I like my present topic, so I don't mind working on it for 4 years. I may continue with a postdoc. better an assistant professor, then professor. you will be able to do it persistently when you find the right thing.
It is like you are finding a partner, if you find the right person, you will to be with him/her for ever.. Good luck!
