I just read this thread for the first time in a while.
Sorry to say this, JRadetzky but you are definitely:
a) homophobic and
b) a weirdo.
People have sex and it's one of the normal things of life. And people are behaving like animals sometimes, that's why we live in a world full of war, crime and injustice.
You are definitely asking the wrong questions in this forum. You want to know whether a PhD has benefits for an intended career as whatever. Then you say you want to do one but you are not sure about the benefits. That makes no sense. Either you want to do one (then you don't care about the benefits beforehand) or you don't.
In my humble opinion I advise you to dismiss the thought of doing one: it's hard to get into it, but even harder to get through to the end unless you dismiss a social life and are willing to see a lot of arseholes everyday who think they are so important in the world but have a limited worldview.
I don't like academics and I say that as one of them (currently). If you are willing to dedicate your life to a big waste of time then go ahead though..
are you sure nobody entered your room whilst you went outside? Also, can you think of a specific time (clockwise) when you started buttoning your shirts? How long did it take you and what did you do before? This might help you to find out if you really did it or were just planning to do so...if not, then the only explanation is:
You have a ghost in your room
So Jenny, that's not a very nice way of continuing the original debate through the back door.
It's hypocritical, actually. You had nothing to say in the original debate and now you try to post this irrelevant comment weeks later.
It doesn't seem like you've learned anything at all..
Thanks. I think I'm slowly calming down now. I've never had this before and I almost passed out.
That stupid 'Centrum' tablet almost killed me. I'm not scared easily normally but thI've been panicking. The worst thing is: if you choke and die you have not even time to say goodbye to anybody. It must be horrible to realize that you can't breathe and then you can do nothing about it. I seriously thought I'm dying now. I ran out of the flat and banged against the door of my neighbour but noone opened when it happened.
Hello?
I think I go to the hospital as I still feel really weird.
Just before it happened I've been thinking about the format of a chapter and now I think that I could have been dead a few minutes ago.
What an ungraceful exit-people would have found me in a couple of days. Life is so dangerous
