Totally understand your defeat. I was feeling the same way recently, realised it was my confidence n imposter syndrome. I’ve moved to industry, and at first felt awkward to do it, but my peers actually celebrated n encouraged me to do it.
But I also think it’s because it a company that cater to academics, so required for some credibility
