nVivo - student licence

I'm nVivo trained and it's the best package around - I was just wondering what functions I would lose out on as it needs upgraded to the full model.

Do you have to send your passport away and how long would this take to get back?

What do you lose on the fucntionality of it - I note that it's not a fully fledged model. Also, what proof of student ID do they take?

The nocturnal workers' thread
B

My bodyclock means I'm naturally nocturnal. Unfortunately I've also got to put in an appearance at uni a couple of times a week which involves getting up at 7.30. I'm finding it pretty difficult and when I manage it takes me to mid-afternoon before I can function. Fun times ahead.

Theory
B

I'm in the social sciences and my research is very empirical - it's paid for by 'industry' - and I'm finding real difficulty in conceptualising any theoretical framework for it. Anyone else had this problem?

Career development loans

The Co-op bank is the best option: they offer loans at 12.9% but that is inclusive of the interest paid by government over the initial term of the loan; whereas the other banks do not include this (in effect the rate you repay changes to c.20%).

was not only distinctly average at MSc but bordering on not very good. But, it turns out, I am good at research. My dissertation is about it be published (well part of it) and I had worked on publications for charitable organisations as well.

I was told I got the studentship because they could see my enthusiasm for the topic. So, if you really want it, go in there and show them you want it. Am coping just fine. Normally do about 3 drafts of things before my supervisors are happy, don't feel under any great amount of stress most of the time and generally love my PhD.

I've just to do my dissertation before finishing my MSc. I'm sitting with mostly As and have an application in for a PhD but there's no interview stage etc. so how would they know of your enthusiasm? My chief worry is that I only got a 2:1 in my Hons and had never showed any real interest in studying or academic flair until my Masters year.
