This is for the author of the post,
1) if you are planning doing GRE, and since your field is related to engineering, try to get over 97% in Mathematics and analytical papers. Don’t worry too much over Language.
2) Prepare an impressive "personal Statement" describing why you want to study in particular subject. Try to elaborate on a specific theoretical/applied problem of the field you are interested in finding answers
My other suggestion is to try NORWAY, FINLAND, GERMANY and SWEDEN for a PhD degree in engineering. These countries have a higher standard of living, excellent education and cultures which respect diversity
If people get annoyed by facts, they should be smoking something exotic to escape reality.
UK PhD Programme does not require not even a single publication in a peer reviewed journal. and they then go for a post doc and suddenly they are thrown to the bitter reality of managing several projects. BOOM!!
Simply because US dont give a sh..about UK Qualifications.
yeah Right! I am trolling, when my ideas do not match with you, call him a savage! eh?? And for the lawyer , no wonder you are stuck in a UK sub-standard University. Obviously you cant think out of the box, and have no common sense. when did you win your last case? 1945??
Pathetic. If you want to Ban me, go ahead. I was simply stating The petition to ban a particular type of posts not only violated the fundamental human right to free information, but is a hidden strategy to discriminate third world students.
I have No complain. It is a another clear example how western democracies hush up the "unwanted' stuff from the forums. in the process the whole thread is gone for a six!
1) Do Your GRE, Get a percentile score above 80
2) Do not Apply for ivy league Colleges
3) apply for Middle level Universities.
Tricky, You have made some interesting Assumptions.
let me correct you.
1) I was registered in PhD programme
2) this was later given in writing to me by the academic/Admissions department, when my thesis was approved by the external and internal referees.
3) There fore I have every right to be upset.
Err..KeeHaa, So New Scientist is a Peer reviewed journal Eh?
So much for the British democracy!!
It Is my Duty to Alarm the prospective Asian/Arabic/Chinese students. Complain to whom?, and I know they do it very often.
Ha ha.. Yep I know what is the status of UK Science. specially PhD. You dont Have to publish anything! Do you get it , Mouth brether? that mean without publishing ANYTHING in a PEER REWIVIWED Journal, Just by writing CRAP in your Thesis you GET PhD.. Dosent it look wonderful.
Once I was told to bring my scholarship money and register for a MPhil in the field of Biochemistry/biology, and that my would be supervisor can get funding for 2 more years and I can extend the mPhil to a PhD. It turned out to be that All he needed was my money and all other promises were just lies. beleiving this guy, I lost two more options one in Canada and Japan. Asian Students beware!! UK is not the best place to do a PhD and you dont even have to publish!! there are much better places in europe!! and they do good science!!
