"ADMITTED to the Degree of" "AWARDED the Degree of". What's the difference?

Can someone please advise if "Admitted to the Degree of" on the Uni certificate is the British/European way of saying "Awarded the Degree of"?

Many thanks in advance,

Websites for postdoc positions in USA?
R

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone knows of the leading websites for the U.S.-based postdoc positions, similar to the UK's jobs.ac.uk? Is it just PostdocJobs.com or similar that one can locate through google or are there any others?

Many thanks in advance for the pointers.

Thinking of leaving before I'm in too deep

PhD is a test of endurance, they said. Only with the hindsight I can fully appreciate the true meaning of this cliche phrase, but before I start my rant, please let me say this @PhDefault: what an utterly wicked and soul destroying individual is that ex-supervisor of yours! I mean, what's wrong with them people? Anyway, mattie, I'd join the latter advice - if it looks like a dog, if it talks like a dog, it's a dog. However, if you want & most importantly can physically, emotionally and financially spend n numbers of years of living in the constant uphill struggle mode, then stay.

There have been some posts about this on the forum - try searching for 'gifts'. I personally like this one, kinda summed it all up for me:

Dear forum,

I am really grateful for all of you for help with my previous requests, and I was wondering if I could possibly ask if you for a favour of looking up these 5 important, but a bit dated articles for me. Massive thanks in advance, Rina

Hi, glad you have accessed the first one. Just checked again its open availability - it is. I am not logged in through my uni, just followed the link on the right hand side to PDF file.

Hi,

The first one should be freely available at:

http://journals.lww.com/optvissci/abstract/1992/03000/patients__responses_to_retinitis_pigmentosa.3.aspx

For the second one maybe you can ask the authors directly:

https://www.researchgate.net/publication/232580844_Self-report_in_functional_assessment_of_low_vision

Sorry, no access for the third one or the journal either.

Cheers,
Rina

P.S. Thanks a lot for the offer of tea, that's very kind, but what actually would help in my case if you could look up whether you have access to these articles:
