Field of study is health psychology, the charities are mainly small local ones that provide small grants for women in education so I figured it was worth a shot.
The place is dependent on the interview, hence the nervousness!
Have you had a response from more than one place then? Are you past the interview stage?
It's part time so will have to find £1600 which could be worse. Got a few local charities to apply to so I might get a contribution from them, otherwise I'll have to beg, steal or borrow from somewhere!
I've only applied to one uni, it's in my local area and the Professor that I approached I really want to work with. I've had a lot of contact with him, he's been really supportive which has been fantastic.
What about you?
Me! Although still got to have the interview - I know I've got one just don't know the exact date yet. Have never been so nervous! The worst part (for me anyway) is that if it's a yes, I've then got to find the fees from somewhere...
Good luck with yours, hope it's a yes
I'm hoping to do my PhD part time (am waiting to hear back from my application) so will be self funded. It's the only way I can afford to do it. I work full time, but in education so I work school hours and get the school holidays, so I'm hoping that I'll be able to fit both in without too much trouble.
I get really bad hayfever too, I was terrible a few weeks ago but it seems to have calmed down a bit now. I don't like antihistamine tablets, like you they make me drowsy which is no good! I tend to use a combination of a nasal spray and eyedrops, depending which bit is affected - although I tend to find that if my nose is bad and my eyes are just a bit itchy that the nasal spray sorts both out.
Hope that helps!

I did the same thing SeaBird, I've got a BA and a BSc - got totally fed up with my first subject so after a few years did something completely different with the OU. I can understand people wanting to continue studying, I love learning things (does that make me sad??)and am waiting to hear the outcome of a PhD application.
Count me in for the beach yoga
