Congratulations Dr Pink_fluff!!!
The seminar I went to was organised by Thames Restek. They are doing a few all over the UK. I know that one of my other suppliers, Phenomenex, also does a series of seminars on HPLC. It's worth checking them out, because they are also nice networking opportunities and a way to get discounts from your suppliers ;)

I ran my calibration curve with a know amount of standard solution, made up of known amounts of pure compounds. Worked brilliantly! So using a mixture is no problem, as long as you know what's in there. And when in doubt you can always run a separate compound afterwards to confirm your conclusions.
On another note... I've been to a very good HPLC seminar in London last week... really helpful! Learned lots!
Yay Dr Chuff!!
Eating and sleeping in the PG Common room... I though I was being weird nearly living in my office, but I'm not sleeping there yet :D I'm at Essex/Writtle by the way, and so is Bendy :)
I'm looking forward to reading this! and everybody has a dark side... even ivory towery scientists ;)
Cakeman, I've seen things that make your dream sounds fairly normal... ;-)
Yay Dr Rick!! Congrats and well done!
Yep, same here, although I have plenty administrative and literature work to do instead though ;)
These spam thingies are actually quite hilarious... I don't think they even realise/bother to look what forum they post on!
Hi Sri,
I know that the Essex Business School (Uni of Essex) does a good MBA programme, and University of Essex also offers Health sciences, but I have no idea whether they do an MBA in Health Care (I am in Biological Sciences). Check out the website for more info: http://www.essex.ac.uk/coursefinder/?search=&pgt=&ft=&sa=BEMS
Uni of Essex is not too far from London...
Good luck!
I'm a GTA, so I get to teach during my PhD, and am also enrolled in a PG Cert HE, so hopefully when I finish my PhD I will also have my HE teaching qualification.
My supervisor cam by with a little surprise today... I hae to write risk assessments for every lab procedure I am going to do (which up until now is about 30, but still counting). Did anybody else who does lab work go through the same thing? Did you "borrow" from other RAs? Did your department have them?
Way too much work... the only thing I found so far after moving to the UK is that the H&S regulations are ridiculously complicated and a lot of administrative work! I don't have time for all of this stuff ,-)
Congratulations Jojo! Well done. Get some deserved rest and time off, and start on your corrections with a fresh mind!
