I love every minute of doing this PhD. I only recently started, but still. I feel very priviliged that I have been offered this opportunity and plan to make the best of it and develop myself in all aspects! Life is pretty good at the moment!
Congrats! Nice achievement!
Since I'm in science, I'm subscribed to New Scientist. Like it for my popular science, and not too expensive.
I reckon she'll settle for your credit card details and personal data... in the major misunderstanding that PhD students are rich :-)
My proposal; was somewhere between 2000 and 3000 words I think and contained intro to subject, justification and materials and methods (briefly)
congrats!! Well done! (up)
Here's a list with research groups and institutions in photovoltaics: http://www.google.co.uk/#hl=en&expIds=25657,27026,27031,27033,27040,27817&xhr=t&q=photovoltaics+research&cp=15&pf=p&sclient=psy&aq=0&aqi=g4g-o1&aql=&oq=&gs_rfai=&pbx=1&fp=ec580a23bbcb13e1
perhaps it's worth informing with the scientists whether they have positions etc?

Oh, sorry for that :-) PI stands for primary investigator. He/she is usually the person that has the end-responsibility for the project.
As far as I'm concerned, I don't mind my sup being co-author, as long as I'm first author 8-)
Depends a bit on the situation and discipline, but in science it usually does, since PhD students can normally not be PI's, which will mean your sup is the PI and as such will also be listed. Academically, to be listed as a co-author, you need to have done a substantial amount of work for the publication, and to my opinion supervising a PhD student classifies as substantial (I'm in science, so this all might differ in other disciplines)
Have a look at this thread: http://www.englishforum.ch/other-general/46360-reputation-swiss-management-center-line-education.html
It appears opinions are different on this institution...
Hi! I see you're using journal of dairy science. Assuming you're an animals scientist, what's your research on? Mine's on ruminant nutrition :)
I'd say try to identify possible supervisors and get in contact with them. Even if the uni is reluctant, a supervisor that is truly interested and thinks you have potential can argue your case. The funding bit is a difficult one, but not impossible. This too might be something to discuss with a potential supervisor. So make sure yu get your idaes clear, and have a go! The worst that can happen is they say no, in that case, go for the next potential supervisor...
Well done Dr. Charls!!
If those three are your areas of interest, then how about the School of Defence and Security at the University of Cranfield? They do postgraduate studies, not sure which but perhaps worth a look.

Zipidee,
You can contact the council, they usually pick up dead animals, and should normally have a microchip scanner to scan pets when found. However, every council has it's own regulations, so you might have to ask yours.
