Shellyanne I totally agree! My mother in law always asks "how's the college course going?"

I've never been one to labour the PhD status but I resent being treated as if I am just whiling away my life doing flower arranging or thai chi for beginners. Humph.

1. Charity Hawkers - my all time no 1 bug bear / bengali tea boy.
2. Bono
3. Polystyrene packaging
4. Girls who put multiple FHM wannabe / readers wives type pictures of themselves on myspace + talentless musicians requesting 'friendship'.
5. The complete works of Dido & James Blunt.
6. Starbucks / Costa et al - should NOT be classed as coffee.
7. Changing my duvet - the worst household task ever ever - I always leave it for b.f
8. Dreadful musicals that should not be allowed -we will rock you, wicked etc
9. My hourly rate of pay minus the mountain of marking undergraduate work that takes 2 weeks to complete
10. Cheap booze & alcopops - eeeeewwwwwww!

Hello Piglet, hello all Hope everyone is well & good
I have been away at a couple of conferences & have another couple to go to at the end of the month. I like to think of it as taking the data on tour!

How are you celebrating?
P

I am going to have a massive bling party & invite all my old fashion & media mates and my academic chums who normally never the twain shall meet.

Should I stay or should I go???

"For the Love of God"?

I didn't see the skull thingie or newsnight, but I have to say in defence of Damien Hurst that many moons ago I went to the Sensation exhibition at the RA and his cow cut in half was part of the collection. I'd always poo pooed him as emporer's new clothes, but just as Tricky described it was mesmerizing and I could have stood there all day looking at it - it was fascinating / provoking / an expierence. I don't know much about art, but it really changed my view on him.

Did anyone ever see the weather project sun installation at the Tate Modern a few years back?
Thats my best bit of art, ever ever.

never quite good enough :-(
P

Yes I do the feedback sandwich too.
Nice thing, [criticism], nice thing.

What shall i do ?
P

I am sorry this happened to you - what a rubbish thing for someone to do. Even if it's not word for word, they still out, of respect and general humaness should have mentioned it to you 1st. Grrrrrrrrr on your behalf.

Here we are...
don't know about maritime studies, could you be more specific? Is it like marine biology, environmental science, commerce or what? Not sure what you mean by commodity science?

well dans la Paris there is AUP where classes are in anglais, but if you're hoping for le Sobornne fluent french is a must. AUP has some beautiful buildings, a great international faculty, and it's all v.chic - but oo laa laa - the fees are tres, tres expensive!
