I was jsut thinking today about a nice treat that I could have after submission of my Thesis...nothing comes in my stressed, sleep deprived mind;( Any ideas from your experiences or crazy stuggestions?:)

Try to apply for a job you want instead of waiting to be offered it...when applying demonstrate how skills you have acquired as a PhD could be as well used in your job.

it depends which conidtions you dont meet. If it is about funding- at least my university, would not accept...if it is about grades- some might have be understanding:)

Alicepalace: that PhD student who was interviewed in Guardian said that being a model is quite well paid job compared to working in a bar as a waitress:) So, are go going to give it a try?

Focus on your thesis, in thesis you can write the correct equation but publish corrections of the paper later. I guess that there are no rules how fast after dicovering your errors you have to publish corrections.

PinkNeuron, whether you get or not a scholarship does not depend on your abilities. Competition is very hard and often there is just very very small difference between the person who does get scholarship and who doesnt, mainly determined by random luck. I didnt get scholarship for PhD first time I applied. Nothing out of 10 applications. After a year I applied again and got fully funded scholarship! Did my abilities improves during that year- I very much doubt it. So, nouse up, there will come better times.
