Hi all,
I am a Psy PhD student and I am working on a research project studying women's communication skills.
I was wondering if anyone female would be so kind to fill out my survey.
It is very short, it will take you literally 2 minutes to answer all questions!
The survey is 100% anonymous and you don't need to share personal data.

Thank you so much!
I think you should wait for a little bit... Maybe things will change!
Remember, that you are very lucky to get into a PhD program in the U.S, so you should definitely use this opportunity.
Have you tried transferring to another school? Maybe you should change an adviser?
Anyway, I wish you the best of luck! :)
Thanks!
Did you check out Goldsmiths?
It is a good school (my friend did there a semester abroad) and looks like it is easy to get in:
You should have an undergraduate degree of at least upper second class standard in a relevant subject. If your first language is not English, you normally need a minimum score of 7.0 in IELTS (including 7.0 in the written element) or equivalent.
Hi Swetch,
Congratulations!
Did your supervisor help you when you wrote your chapter?
If yes, I guess it would be fair to list her as a contributor/editor. I think that if you list her as a co-author, that would mean that your wrote everything together or at least equal parts.
I can't say what is better - solo or joint authorship, because it is important to have both.
Keep me posted!
Hi all,
I am going to apply to a PhD program in the U.S, but I doesn't have any publications yet. I am still in grad school and have some time, so hopefully I will have something soon. However, I am curious of anyone applied to a PhD program in Media and Communications without any publications? Did you get in?
Thanks!
Hi Sabrina,
LSE is definitely the best, but it is very competitive. Good luck!
Hi,
I am so glad to hear that you decided to keep going with you PhD! I know that there are times when you just want to give up everything and go and get a job, because all your classmates are already managers and make a lot of money. I know this feeling well, because I was like that myself when I tried to balance between school and works and ended up with a nervous breakdown. Just concentrate on school and never give up. PhD is a really great experience and it will give you a lot more than you think.
Keep us posted :)
I want to do a PhD in this field too. Very curious about job market.
What do you think?
Hi,
I saw that your post is from 2010...
Did you apply to your PhD program?
I am doing my Master's now and hope to apply to PhD in Media and Communications.
How did it go?
Masters.
It is relatively easy and it will bring you more money in the future.
I am doing my Masters in Media and Communications now and it is a lot of fun!
make sure you have a good portfolio before you apply, - it will make your life much easier.
Good luck :)
Hi Ahmad,
London School of Economics would be a great choice, but it is hard to get in. I am looking for a program in the US in media and communications, they have many good schools here like MIT and Stanford.
Good Luck!
I know how you feel, but fear is quite a normal feeling. It is obvious that you want to do a great job, so you become nervous when you think of failing. Don't stress out, just keep doing a good job and even if you fail (which I hope you won't!), you will know that you did your best.
