I had the same difficult hours this year :)
Actually just show them that you can perform all of the research steps on your own by giving examples from your previous research (MSc)
Show them that you can scan the literature, find problems to make research on, provide solutions to them and also publish ...
They just wanna see how well you can fit to a researh environment.
And of course calm down ...
good luck !
hi everyone !
what do you suggest for a first year rookie phd ; I mean how much should a rookie PhD allocate for reading journals/books per day and how often should he meet with the supervisor ?
Or do you have other specific suggestions for the first year ?

Hi all,
I am a new member of this forum ; a great site !
Actually I want to get the opinions of the people studying for their PhD in TUDelft. And also I began thinking that the salary for the PhDs is not enough ? PhDs get 1400,1600,1700,1750 € roughly net salaries respectively for their 4 years of study but I know that housing is really expensive in Delft ? So what do you think of this situation and how do you overcome this salary shortage :)
