you have stolen 45 mins of my life and I want them back!!!!
Hi there!!!
I'm doing an ESRC collaborative PhD with the DWP, it sounds similar to the CASE studentships except I don't have to attend any DWP functions just present my work periodically as working papers to them. I have 3 supervisors, 2 from uni 1 from DWP. Like you my proposel was drawn up by the uni and I was interviewed for the job of doing it. I have one supervision a month and sometimes it gets complicated keeping 3 of us happy and in agreement. I found it hard to bring myself up to speed in the area of study and constantly feel as though because of that I am 4 months behind, about to upgrade so hopefully it will go well and I'll be back on track!!
I submitted my first chapter of the lit. review for my upgrade and just got a mail back from my supervisor saying only minor revisions!!! OK he didnt say it was brilliant and fantastic but he didnt say it was awful either!!! However chapter two that I'm working on now isnt going as good as the first so may have to prepare myself for a roasting on that one...But for now big smiles happy bunny!!!
Mmm that looks as though its bordering on manic happy.....I'm bored bored bored my upgrade stinks today!!!!
That means my upgrade is next month and I am no where near finshing it!!!!!
Sorry that sucks!!! Flippin supervisor...saiding you good cutting vibes x
Jeez you sure you've not got my supervisr...she sounds just like mine!!! She is lovely as a person but so intimidating as a colleague. She keeps saying 'I was just like you but I had it knocked out of me!!!'...she scares the pants off me...BUT although I thought she was being harsh when she criticised me it is paying off as my writing has come on no end and I am also learning to handle criticism much better. So I would work on changing how you receive her comments rather than working on her comments per se. Also do remember that YOU are the only expert in YOUR field you can listen to their comments but u;ltimately you have control over what you take on board. xx
ooppsss wrong link try this:
http://www.endnote.com/support/faqs/CWYW/faq20.asp
Heres the End note link:
http://www.pm.gov.uk/files/pdf/OPSR%20Customer%20Feedback%20Principles.V2.pdf
Sure that is better than my explanation!!!
jojo make sure you use the endnote toolbar in word not actually endnote itself x
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!
Babies rock!!!!
jojo, I think if the existing page number is one that has been entered into the reference in the Endnote library then it cannot be changed. Are you trying to edit with Word or Endnote? you need to do it in endnote: click on the citattion, then right click on it and selected Edit citation. Then enter your page number in suffix (eg, p.10) then ok.
I don't think you can actually Edit the information that has been entered as part of the record just amend what you already have....mmmmm not sure that made sense at all????
Bad news and good news...Bad news I broke the stay on my bell (think I stressed and tense...how daft did I feel...I mean you can't just go and buy a new stay off e-bay) but good news....we solved the problem. After you commented about the field codes we googled it and it popped up...it was Word..in options there was a tick box view field codes that was active..unclicked and hey presto. So really happy but it was your pointer that sent us there...so huge thanks for your patience and advice
Shani...I have learnt more about endnote this afternoon than in my life...your update makes perfect sense (about the field notes)...gotta get the kids tea now then go bell ringing but will try tonight after the kids are in bed....watch this space and big thanks for keeping up with me on this x
Hi kit Kat I'm running 8.0.2 and think I have installed the patch but lovely hubby has saved it on his stick and will install it tonight just in case humph this is so frustrating. Cheers though xxx
